Danstopic panoramic
Danstopic panoramic exposes the experience of an interrogation brought to dance and suggests for the public a way of access to their own body. The work process guided by Alexandra Balasoiu and Loredana Larionescu started with the Danstopic Vlog interview series, the individual training sessions with guests and the visually augmented letter series, Danstopic Letters. In this approach, Simona Dabija accumulated fragments of intentions, perceptions and desires, which she filtered through her own experience, observing their resonance in her own body. Thus was born a dance of all bodies, a protest of the living body, both restrained and expressive.

”If you feel an excess of information and thoughts, shake them off. Let them explode through your bones. Through the muscles. Through the skin. Let them protest among themselves. To manifest. Like a morse code of dance. Points. Lines. Short. Long. Breaks. At first it may seem illogical. Separately they don’t make sense. Put together they are coherent. They become words-sentences-phrases. It’s a story. The story of the dance in your body.”

After watching the film, we recommend giving yourself 15 minutes of intimacy. Take a few sheets of paper and some colors with you, use our musical suggestion, and allow yourself to explore the present.
Choose a color.
Close your eyes, breathe, and notice where you find it in your body.
Maybe you see it on a muscle, a bone, on a patch of skin.
Or maybe a part of your body just whispers subtly that it wants to be seen.
Place it gently on a sheet of paper and trace its boundaries using the color you chose.
Then look at it with kindness and notice if any thoughts arise that you’d like to capture in words.
Allow yourself to observe your body’s desires today. Does it want to stretch, to run, to curl up?
Play between observation, movement, drawing, writing, and don’t rush to return to yourself the way you thought you knew yourself when you began.
